A question was asked about a woman that was on the platform of a church wearing a short dress so tight that it left nothing to the imagination. Many replied, some championing her choice, others standing against it.... some just excusing her as being a young convert and not trained. Some even said that the only reason people were against her attire was that she was very curvy and had a big rear end. I wish to address this here on my blog, hoping to reach those that think this is acceptable behavior on the platform singing at the church.
It would not be okay if her rear was flat... it is still wrong. We better teach what is right whether it offends some or not. That is righteous judgement... and The WORD tells us we must judge with righteous judgement; with the understanding that we will be judge by the same measure!
If we do not teach and preach the FULL Gospel, those that we patted on the back and said, "oh, you are okay. God understands" - for those we will be judged by God for not telling them the truth.
Proverbs 8:33 (KJV) Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
All instructions/corrections in God's Word are for our good. We were not given the authority to pick and choose which ones we think are okay and which ones we can overlook because someone will be offended. If the Sword cuts, then God is working on them. it is called CONVICTION and we need to stop calling it OFFENDED! Let God do His work, we simply Love and preach the Word. If that conviction makes them turn away offended.. then they are rejecting God, not the church or you or religion.
All of us that are saved went through the same process of conviction to come to the Lord. Some of us ran away, crying that someone hurt their feelings.
Those of us that turned to the Lord and repented better be studying His Word and standing and keep standing for GOD.
Love does not always mean "just let them be, God will fix them" - NOT IF THEY ARE OFFENDED BY GOD'S WORD. Not if you are telling them it is okay to do as you please, dress as you want, and live like you want to - most are not reading/studying the Word for themselves. So we are the mouth piece... and how we live speaks to them even more.
If they see you bouncing around at the pool in a speedo, they feel like it is okay for them too... the Pastor or Youth Pastor does it so I am okay... God understands... You will be held accountable!
GOD understands His Word was given for the reproof, correction, and righteousness. WE have corrupted that gift by our own mouth with telling people "it is okay", God understands.
It is still wrong whether she has "bumps" or no "bumps", front or back. We already have skin, why are we trying to have another skin? Decorated it may be, but still another skin for all to see... don't need uniforms either, just men and women that have an understanding of God's Word and follow it.
Our garments are supposed to be "covering" from the public. Not another skin. What we have here is a curvy woman that thinks that she has to show it to be "liked". All that will be hinted at in an appropriate attire; saving the details for her spouse. Modesty seems to be lost or vanquished from today's society in church and out of church.
AND, let's not get stuck there! We must address ALL sin that the elder are supposed to be teaching the younger. THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE WHOLE TRUTH! Don't leave out the cussing and lies, fornication and adultery, sin is sin. God wants us to be free of ALL bondage, all sin.
Oh Lord, help us to teach and preach YOUR truth and not our own thoughts and ideas on any subject, on any wrong that arises. Help us Lord to reject stinking thinking and seek you and your ways.
"What I think" will get you the reward of the devil's hell........
1 Timothy 2:9 (KJV)
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
I Peter 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

Your attire often speaks to others as to your character, stature and who you are:
2 Samuel 13:18 (KJV)
And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled.
