On Friday I was spending some time with God, reading the word and talking to Him. I thought about an email I had received about the 'law' and how it applies to us today. The Bible says that we are no longer under the law but under grace. Many people use this scripture to avoid obeying the precepts of God.
So I was asking God about this. I said "God, when I teach about giving and tithing people always respond by saying 'I am not under the law but under grace." Now, generally God simply leads me straight to the word of God but this time He spoke to me, an entire conversation took place.
He said 'true, you are not under the law but that does not eliminate the principles and laws I have set in place - once a law is set in place it works every time, if that law is obeyed.' He said 'the difference now should be that you do these things NOT BECAUSE of the law but because of your love for me.'
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
