Do you really mean it?

We sing: "More of your glory, more of your power, more of your Spirit in me, speak to my heart, change my life... manifest yourself in me."

When I thought about these words I realized that we often say "God change me" or "I want the mind of Christ" yet, we are not REALLY willing to make the changes even when God points them out to us.
We have a tendency to hold onto what stunts our growth in Christ. We play tug-o-war with God when He attempts to correct or change our stinking thinking! "No, God, I want to keep that," "I can't live without that" or "Surely that will not matter or sway me" are just a few of the things we say when God is removing something from us and our lives that we love dearly; whether it is a person or an object of our affection. So, do we really mean what we are singing?
In our hearts we believe we mean it. In our thoughts we really mean it. BUT, our actions speak otherwise.

True change comes about when we TOTALLY say YES, Lord! Then, follow up with obedience. Stop looking back trying to find a way to keep "it". Move forward so that you don't become that pillar of salt like Lot's wife when she turned after she was warned not to look back.

 Luke 9:62
But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God."

Be blessed in Jesus Name
Stay in the presence of God
Study to show thyself approved
SHARE GOD'S LOVE WITH OTHERS!

Make this new year, 2013, a milestone in your life. Sing from you heart and actions bringing about the changes in your life that God can and will orchestrate when you REALLY mean it.
