Genesis 2:17 But of the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the
day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Genesis 2:25 And they
were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
In the garden, before their disobedience, they had no
knowledge of their nakedness… no knowledge of sin! But after disobedience - the
bliss of not knowing was no longer available to them.
And after the sin of disobedience, knowledge of their
nakedness caused them to be ashamed.
Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that
they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves
aprons. {aprons: or, things to gird about}
Genesis 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in
the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Genesis 3:11 ¶ And he said, Who told thee that
thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that
thou shouldest not eat?
The age of accountability… when you know.
As children, we are born into sin but have not knowledge of
sin. No accountability until we grow older and have more knowledge and choices.
Then we come into the knowledge of right and wrong. Then we are accountable for
our choices and knowledge has made us knowingly accountable for those choices;
right or wrong.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not
bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of
the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the
wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Matthew 12:37 For by
thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
John 9:41 Jesus said
unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see;
therefore your sin remaineth.
John 15:22-24 If I had
not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke
for their sin.
1Corinthians 3:8 Now he
that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own
reward according to his own labour.
Everyone is given the choice to do right, to follow God’s
instructions, the Bible, or to do their own thing, their own way. You cannot
make anyone else’s choice right or wrong. Each must choose for himself. Nor can
you play the blame game with God. You are accountable for you. You reap the
reward or pay the price for yourself. Each one will face judgment on their own.
Influences and teachings in your life will not stand before God’s judgment
throne on your behalf. Only you will face that day, alone, for you and your
choices.
Isaiah 30:1 Woe to the
rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that
cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Acts17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at;
but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
King David said: Psalms
119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy
commandments.
Proverbs 2
1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and
hide my commandments with thee;
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom,
and apply thine heart to understanding;
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and
liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest
for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the
LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth
cometh knowledge and understanding.
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and
preserveth the way of his saints.
9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness,
and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
Be like King David and seek for the good judgment and knowledge.... study God's Word for it will lead you into His righteousness! You are accountable!
