All In God's Good Time

God said we would find Him when we seek Him with all of our heart! Why then does it seem that we don’t find Him? Don’t get an answer or the result of a request when we expect it?
We tend to look for God in the wrong places. We can see His character in creation if we are looking for Him. But more often than not, we seek Him in a churches, in revivals, in famous preachers or singers. Instead of “waiting upon the Lord” we try and rush God into doing what we want in our timetable. Or even try to make it happen when it is not even in His plan or the path that He has for us. We even go so far as to tell Him that if He exists we want an answer right now, or perhaps we give Him an afternoon to give us what we want. That is not putting a fleece before Him; it is outright trying to control God. Trying to push God into giving you your way! Gideon wanted a sign from God yet he did not demand one, he asked humbly for his sign that God was on his side and victory was eminent. He did not use the fleece to get his way.

Judges 6:36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

God told Joseph and Moses ahead of time that they would deliver Israel even though it was years later that His plan was actually accomplished.
Think about your own life…. If you knew ahead of time where you are today would  you have tried to take that short cut? We tend to want the details of life right now… a crystal ball is not the guide you need. God leads us by the light of His Word and only then is life what it should be. Yes, we sometimes take detours. Detours that teach us - if we are willing to learn, detours that take you through the fire, through the trials, through to victory and maturity that only the tests can bring.
Have you ever went camping? If so, then you know that the lantern only shines in the immediate area you are in. You have to move it to see what is further out. Just like our walk with the Lord. His light illuminates our life so that we see the way, but we have to keep walking to see further ahead of us. He does not show us everything that is ahead. We may have knowledge of where the path leads but to get there we must take one step at a time.
If you are drifting and feel as if there is no purpose to it, know this! God has a purpose for you and for your life; a definite purpose. His purpose. It is in finding that purpose that leads us to joy, peace and happiness.
It is time to be on our journey! The new year 2012 is a new opportunity to make the changes in our life. First you must trust God with your life. Many of us have messed things up in our life trying to do it “my way”. Allow God to direct you, guide you. You have to be willing to let Him guide you by taking steps in faith when you are not certain of the way things are going. Read God’s Word daily, prayerfully ask Him to make it plain to you for your understanding of His Word and His Ways; His thoughts and His character; taking on the mind of Christ. Finally, don’t worry if everything doesn’t get fixed right away. You will still have battles - tests and trials even after you begin the journey. Yet, He has a marvelous way of getting you where you need to be!

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

God has an expected end for you and me. It is up to us to submit to His will and way. I have traveled a pathway that took me places I never thought I would go. If someone had told me when I was young the things that I would do in my life, I would have never  have believed it. But I did those things. I went to those places out of the will of God. Now I choose to follow the plans God has for me. I choose to use the experiences I have had to help others choose the right path. I was not a murderer but I was a bad person. I was not a prostitute but I was a bad person. You don’t have to be the worst of the worst in this society to be on the path to hell. Do not follow the truth of the Word of God and you are just as lost! Making no choice at all you may think is ok, but in reality you made a choice by not choosing God you chose the evil path. We tend to deceive ourselves with those choices. We cannot get by with excuses. I did this because they did that. It does not work! This generation is so full of excuses. So often playing the blame game. I am this way because…. I did that because… my parents …. The school…. My best friend…
Over and over we have allowed the delusion of innocence through excuses.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

The only one deceived is you. God already knows. He sees and hears everything. I heard a story of a person telling a minister that God would not hear their prayer. The minister in the wisdom of the Lord, spoke and told them to curse. If God does not hear you, curse! They replied, “oh, no I can’t do that.” Understand this, if God hears you cursing HE HEARS YOUR PRAYERS.
He is not deaf, nor is He blind or stupid. You cannot fool God. You can only deceive yourself.

Give God your all and He will make all things right concerning you – IN HIS GOOD TIME!
