Lighthouse

A lighthouse sits solid. It has a purpose. It cannot be allowed to deviate from its schedule. It must be MAINTAINED at ALL TIMES...if it does go out there is the likelihood of disaster. The person hired to take care of the lighthouse must be completely TRUSTWORTHY and faithful. Lives depend upon the dedication and commitment of the person in charge of maintenance.

A story is told as fact in some saved literature written many, many years ago. It states that the light finally gave out in an old lighthouse… and a ship was on its way in to port. The lighthouse manager asked a radio broadcaster to tell everybody within hearing range to go straight to that dock and turn on their headlights – a ship was in terrible danger of hitting the dock; they could not see where they were going. Lives were in peril!

When the captain and crew came in to dock, they reported that all they saw were hundreds of lights stretched out for miles and miles. ALL THOSE WHO HEARD THE CALL ON THE RADIO BROADCAST WENT STRAIGHT TO THE DOCK WITH THEIR HEADLIGHTS ON!

The call is going out…lives are in peril! Tell someone that Jesus saves! He is the light of the world! He was born and He died that you might have life and have life MORE ABUNDANTLY. This Christmas season shine your lights that others may safely dock…averting the disaster of a life gone astray! If you have your ears on and are listening, your light may be the light that will prevent disaster in someone’s life today. KEEP YOUR LIGHT ON AT ALL TIMES.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
