There Is NO Truce with Satan.
Satan wants you to think you have made a “deal” with him.
But, there is nothing but trickery and deceit. He will decieve you into believing
his lies and promises he will (cannot) never deliver on.
He
tried to seduce Jesus;
Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking him up
into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a
moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power
will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to
whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall
be thine.
8
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is
written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him
on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast
thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels
charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up,
lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
No such thing as a truce with the devil. There are times of rest and refreshing in the
Lord. Times when Christ “carries” you when the battle is long. When God says “enough”, my child rest
for the next battle. I got this.
Don’t be decieved, Satan cannot give you what he does not
have!
Luke 4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou
shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 And when the devil had ended all the
temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14 ¶ And Jesus returned in the power of the
Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region
round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being
glorified of all.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been
brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath
day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book
of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place
where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because
he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal
the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of
sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Jesus
returned in the power of the Spirit! Refusing to give in or believe the devil’s
lies made Jesus return in the power of the Spirit! He did not fall for the
deception nor did He entertain such thoughts of escaping His assigned task. He
did not run from the devil. He sent him packing so to speak. But notice, the
scripture tells us “for a time”, for a season. Know that he will be back and
will try to get in your head again and again. He is just that stupid. Yet, weak
souls often give in to him. This is why scripture tells us to put on the WHOLE
armor of God. For protection against the firey darts and deceit. Also, don’t
grow weary in well doing.
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for
it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou
serve.
Matthew 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written
again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Ephesians 6:10 ¶ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in
the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may
be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of
God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt
about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of
the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;
Loins - reproducing, planting the seed/s of TRUTH
Breatsplace - heart and backbone in/of RIGHTEOUSNESS
Feet - foundation; holds you up, steady and unmoveable; GOSPEL
OF PEACE
Shield - protection of the whole body; FAITH
Helmet - head; SALVATION; SWORD OF THE SPIRIT; WORD OF GOD
With this covering comes directions to pray always, it keeps
your armor strong and functional. Supplication in the Spirit – staying humble,
not thinking it is of your own works that you are victorious.
And lastly, WATCHING, not just for yourself, but for others
also. Watch what? Watch for the firey darts, watch for the deceptions, watch
for any weakening of your armor and correct what is wrong. And, watch for the
brethern that you may help them to be strong also. To preach the Gospel to
those that don’t have salvation. To encourage those that need teaching AND to
learn dailey what God requires of you.
This is a work in progress. Every day we need to read God’s
Word, talk with Him, listen to Him, remember where we came from without
bragging. We don’t get bragging rights… only giving honor to our Lord. Pray
with all supplication to God our Father. Also, witness! Tell of His great love
and mercy.
Overcoming temptations, growing stronger by the word of our
testamony!
There really is NO MAKING A TRUCE with the devil! Slew foot
is looking for any way in to destroy you.
Run to Jesus, RUN.
