Collossians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will
of God…
Our lives should always be
lived BY THE WILL OF GOD. As the God
of all creation, He gives us free will. Our will to choose – what direction our
life will go. How we live, how we think, who we follow, where we follow to,
what we will take or what we throw away.
You choose, to lie or be
honest. You choose to cheat or be faithful. Cheating is not always about a
spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend. God sees and knows your every action, even your
every thought. You can hide from man but you CANNOT hide from God.
You choose to live amoral or
to live morally conscious of right or wrong. You choose to live what you “want”;
to be Godly or to actually live righteous in God’s ways (according to His Word,
The Holy Bible).
Paul who used to be Saul, was
changed by God as he was on his way to do what he thought was the will of God.
God corrected Saul and changed his name to Paul. Still, Paul had to choose to
obey and follow God. I am quite certain it was not an easy task to do what God
required of him in that moment. How embarrassing to have to go to these people
and prove he was no longer persecuting them.
God told Paul to go to those
that he persecuted and tell them of his conversion. Whoa! What if they didn’t
believe him? What if they turned their back on him and refused him? What if?
Now there’s a dilemma!
What has God required of you?
Are you obedient and following “God’s will” or have you convinced yourself that
was not God talking?
And, what about the saints that Paul was to go
to? They feared this man that before was killing Christians. How can we receive
him? God sent him, you say? This must be a trickery… how often has the devil
told you that it could not be so? Did you believe it or did you trust in the
Lord?
What is God’s will? There is
only one way to know and that is study His Word, to know His will.
If you “hear” a voice telling you to do something,
check the Word. If it does not line up with the Word of God, it is not God’s
will and it is not Him speaking. Now, understand a few things here – the devil
is not going to tell you to pray for or care for someone else. By the same
token, God is not going to tell you to be “sweet” to someone else’s husband or
wife.
The Word talks about a
brotherly kiss, not a hug me tight, knock me down smooch. Leave someone else’s
spouse alone, they are not your blessing from God.
Now, prayer does not always
mean you have to “lay hands on them”. When following the unction of the Holy
Ghost, all things will be in decency and in order by the will of God!
God does not tell anyone to “lay
hands” on someone’s private parts. Most male ministers will have a woman place
her hand on a woman and he will place his hand over it to pray for a woman,
keeping decency and order when he feels the unction to the laying on of hands.
Heard of an instance once
where a woman placed her hand on a man’s genitals. Her explanation was that God
told her to lay hands on his problem. That is not in decency or order, God did
not tell her to put her hands there. Either she heard the wrong “voice” or she
percieved the wrong “problem”. In either case, she was WRONG. Not only was she
a distraction to him, she was not protective of the “ministry”. She allowed her
good to be evil spoken of. Romans 14:16 Let not then your good be evil
spoken of: If you create a
scenario of error, then your “ministry” is of no effect. This is not by the
will of God.
God’s will is simple… love
Him above all, trust Him with all, obey Him (all His commands), know Him by His
Word, spend your time with Him, and share Him with all - in all decency and
supplication to Him. 2Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things,
endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy
ministry.
Do the work/s that God has
called you to. You can’t fulfill another’s destiny, only yours. Trying to BE
someone else is not going to work for you. You have to be only YOU; your part
in God’s design. Then, you are by the will of God like Paul!
The Word says to desire the
best gifts. Yet, you cannot make them be yours. You can try to make it happen
but working any gift is only after a maturity(growth) and by the will of God.
1Corinthians 12:25 That there should be
no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for
another.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the
members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with
it.
27 ¶ Now ye are the body of Christ, and
members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first
apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then
gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all
teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak
with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet
shew I unto you a more excellent way.
1Corinthians 13: 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of
angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling
cymbal.
2
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all
knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and
have not charity, I am nothing.
3
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to
be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4
¶ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth
not itself, is not puffed up,
5
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked,
thinketh no evil;
6
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all
things.
8
¶ Charity never faileth…
… that IS by the will of God!
Find and follow your Godly calling.
