1John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 ¶ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
I want to focus on scripture 27 this morning. Many use this to justify their thoughts and actions. Often, screaming "You can't judge me, only God can do that!"
Usually the reason they are rebelling/screaming is that the conviction of the Lord is on them and they are not recognizing it. They are blaming the person carrying the message, the "tool" God is using to get their attention.
One can recognize this by their words:
"God made me this way!" Uh, no He didn't. God did create us but He did not develop that character in you. YOU DID. And, are defending, refining, and promoting it daily. Unwilling to make the change God wants in your life.
"You can't judge me" is another sure sign. That is the conviction of the Lord you are feeling. Stop getting mad at the messenger. If you are living righteous and know it beyond a shadow of a doubt then you don't have to defend it. God knows, you know. If you are falsely accused then your true response is to pray for the person accusing. More often than not only God can defend/change their mind regarding you, your words or actions. Live righteous.
"God knows I have issues! He's working on me." Quit making excuses! He is waiting for YOU TO START WORKING ON YOU. It is not up to Him to miraculously make you perfect (mature in Him). It is time for us to work on "ME". He will help every step of the way.
Regarding verse 27, the way the anointing can/will teach you is if you "listen" to learn of Him. Study His ways. Use the tool/s He provided for you to KNOW Him and what He wants/desires from you. Be willing to change and listen to those people/messengers (everyone is not out to hurt you) He sends to you, be willing to give up that which you are trying to hang onto, be willing to think differently - not clinging to "the way I've always done it or believed". God will bring about the changes needed in your life only if/when you LET HIM!
He is willing to let you stumble, fall, mess up, go the wrong way even - to show you that you are not as smart as you think you are. He will let you go the way you want to go (free will) then He will show you that the only way of escape is through Him and living God's way.
Many think they are happy, yet, are miserable. We profess to be Christian (Christ like) and continue to live as we always did making excuses like those listed above. Salvation is free - making it to heaven is a work in progress! Are you progressing or professing?
The only REAL peace that I have, Dear Lord, is in you....
Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 ¶ Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
