Awesome God

This evening I want to share with you what God did today for a friend...

I had an friend from my past cross my mind several times the past few days. As I waited for my husband to get out of the Doctors office, I called this man on a phone number from years ago. The phone number was there in my mind as I started dialing. I left a message that he had been on my mind a few days and I decided to call and check to see if everything was alright. If not I would pray for him; if it was all okay, I would just say "hello". Then I hung up.

Soon the phone rang. As we conversed, I came to know why the urge to call him came over me. His son, William had been released from prison recently. Had a job and was doing good until this past weekend. As he drove home from a job, an officer pulled him over ( don't know what for ) and he could not produce his license. They were at home. He had forgotten them on his way out to go do the job. Now, he is required to carry ID at all times. So just that quick he is back in jail. County had him. I told my friend that I would pray and ask God to give William favor with the people and that he be released. We ended our conversation and I went on with my day.

Later on this same day ( Good Friday, April 2, 2010 ) I was in my office and my phone notified me that I had a message. I opened it and read:

"Thank you. I don't know what you got going on with God, but it's good. William is about to be released! Bless you, I loss the words, good day."

Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Only God....

A little phone call, to a very old phone number that worked, to witness and God to show His greatness. God made the way and we planted seed for God's harvest.
Then, I read a motivation from A New Thing Ministries about listen and obey. We don't know what God will do with our seemingly small efforts. I want to share it with you too.

The Smallest Things
A couple weeks ago, during my prayer time, the Lord spoke to me to purchase a phone for someone. It really wasn't something I had thought of, but since God had recently rebuked me for giving grudgingly, I was eager and happy to obey. I went that day and bought a phone and gave it to them. I really didn't think a lot about it after that.
That was two weeks ago, this week this same person found themselves in a place where they were cut off from people to a great degree and needed spiritual guidance. Although they were unable to make calls, they were, however, able to text me. Through texting I was able to teach them many things about the word of God and how to come through a situation with victory.
Then today they texted me and asked me about the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues - though I have never tried to teach that via text, I did, it took some time and some passing scripture back and forth and delays - but before the hour was up, this person was praying in tongues.
As I thought about all this I thought about how amazing God is - how deep His love is for this person. That God would see their need, two weeks away, and make a way for them to be ministered to. For a few moments today I was simply in awe at how much God loves us. And if He loves us so much that He will make a way for us to be ministered to BEFORE we even need it, then we can also trust that He has a good plan for us and everything, everything will work for our good, even if we can't see it at the time.
I learned a valuable lesson today - if God tells me to do something or give something, I don't need to know details - or why that person needs it - or what they are going to do with it - that is none of my business - all I need to do is hear and be quick to obey the voice of God. That's my part - and then sometimes, like today, I get to see the outcome and I stand in awe of God and how He uses each of us.
If God has told you to do something for someone, just do it. If God has told you to give, just give. If He has nudged you to minister to someone else, be quick to obey. You never know what kind of seed you are planting.
A few months ago, I talked with a person a couple times about God. They were already saved but didn't really know much of the word of God. I really didn't think I had even shared that much with them - but months later I learned that a family member of theirs found themselves in a crisis situation and he was able to take what I had shared with him - which was seemingly little - and share it with them and they came out victorious. My friends that is what it is all about. Sharing our faith, our God and then seeing the harvest come forth in small and large ways.
Even when you sow the smallest of seeds, you just never know how great it may be in someone else's life. I have often been asked by people if a $1 seed is too small. No seed is too small to God. Nor to me. The important thing is to obey God.
He loves us so much, He will go to any length to bless us and minister to us - regardless of the situation, He will always make a way - He is simply that good. And He has made provision for you even ahead of time, just as He did for the person I mentioned earlier in the motivation. God really has gone before you and made the crooked places straight. He really IS perfecting all things that concern you. He really DOES have a good plan for your future - a future full of realized hope! He really does - you can trust in that truth.
Listen and be quick to obey - you may never know the lives you touch as you do those two simple things...listen and obey.
