Mark 9:49 For
every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with
salt.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his
saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace
one with another.
Not many
people like bland food, unseasoned meats and vegetables. It just tastes better.
Makes it more attractive to the pallete. You want more when it is seasoned
properly.
We must be
seasoned in our walk with God. It will show others that God is good. It will
make the lost want to be saved.
Without the firey trials, or the time spent
learning and leaning on the Lord, we won’t have the saltness needed for our
witness and staying power. The Holy Ghost, sent as our comforter, is also our
guide through to being seasoned.
Think about
who/what you like to listen to. The seasoned and learned minister or the
stumbling, not sure of their text preacher? The practiced and trained singer or
the off key crooner that forgets the words? Which draws you more than the
other? The carnal mind sees and hears AND knows who is real and seasoned. Yet, even the "cant carry a tune in a bucket", singer when under the anointing, attracts
the drawing of the lost to God.
Seasoning,
salting, preparing your way to heaven attracts others to follow you as you
follow Christ and become seasoned themselves.
Scripture
says, “Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good:”
Job 12:11
Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
Get salty! Don't quit when the going gets tough. Let the pressure that cures (like meat) season you. Preparing you for greatness in the Lord!
When I was a little girl I use to hear people say "try, try again"/
Don't let anything make you quit. TRY, THEN TRY AGAIN.
