Luke 5:16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
Even Jesus took time to pray. Alone.
I remember a few words to a song my parents sang in church when I was real young - steal away and pray. As society becomes more complicated and busy... now more than ever we need to steal away and pray. Even a quickie is a testament to your love for God, but there is a time (some of us, many times) we need to just get alone with HIM.
Prayer is not always asking for something. Yet, prayer is always a need. We need Jesus, we need to worship Him and let Him know our hearts desire toward Him. To bask in His presence and glory. If you are flitting from one obligation to another or even attending to someone in need, we are busy and our focus is on our goal and not fullly on Him.
Your wilderness may be in your bedroom, or at the lake, perhaps just sitting under a tree in the yard. Turn off the tv, cell phone, and music box to meditate and talk to the Lord. You will find that your life has more peace and joy than ever before!
Don't be afraid to hear the beauty in silence. That is when His still small voice can be heard. Then you will hear more than you ever have. The tangible presence of God will meet you in that place, your wilderness. Where ever it may be.
