Outpouring of God...

Excerpt from A New Thing Ministries motivations:

Churches are fasting and praying for an outpouring of God and asking God to pour out His fullness on His body. But I have to wonder if we really know what that would mean.
To find out exactly what that would mean, we have to take a look at the book of Acts - we preach from it all the time. We talk about the way Peter walked down the street and people were healed by simply being in his shadow. We talk about the mighty exploits, the Acts of the Apostles - but that is not all that was revealed during that outpouring of God.
Do you realize that when God pours out His spirit as He did in the book of Acts, not only miracles, signs and wonders are evident but everything becomes evident.
The hearts of Gods people will become evidence when Gods presence and power once again touches this earth. Remember the people who lied when they brought their offering? They dropped dead on the spot. You see, friends, when God comes in His fullness we must be a church without spot or blemish. We will have to be walking upright before God in all areas of our life OR if we are not, those areas will be exposed.
We will have to be in obedience to God concerning our stewardship. We will have to know and understand that all we have belongs to Him and it is our responsibility to do what He says to do with the money He puts in our hands.
We will have to obey God concerning our neighbors, our community. We will have to be walking in love and mercy and kindness - not judgment and condemnation. We will simply have to be walking as Jesus walked on this earth.
If you recall in the book of Acts, when God poured out His spirit - there was great unity - there was great love among the people. They even put all their material possessions together so no one had lack. Can you even imagine that happening today?
Lastly, we will have to be walking pure, holy and upright before God. We will have to be honest before God and His people. In the book of Acts, when someone lied to the Apostles, they were lying to God and God IMMEDIATELY sent judgment. There was no time for repentance - judgment was swift.
As I pondered on all this I had to ask myself if I, personally, was ready for God to pour out His awesome spirit in fullness in my own life. I had to do a heart check and realize that it was not only about the miracles, signs and wonders - but about many more things, such as honest stewardship, walking in love with ALL my neighbors, and walking in holiness and purity myself in every area of my life.
I believe with all my heart that outpouring is coming - and I want us, all of us to be ready. Are you ready? Have you done a heart check? Are there any areas in your life that you wouldn't want exposed? Are you doing what God says do with your money? Are you loving those who are unlovable? Are you walking upright before God to the best of your ability? These are questions I asked myself all day yesterday and I wanted to share them with you today.
As I said, the outpouring is coming...let's be ready.
